O R D E R
The Writ Petition has been filed seeking to direct the third respondent to give adequate police protection to the Arulmigu Subramaniyar Temple Thaipusa Festival which is scheduled to be held on 04.02.2023 to 06.02.2023 on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 10.12.2022 to the respondents.
2. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner has been conducting Thaipoosa Festival at Arulmigu Sivasubramaniyar Temple for the past 40 years. In this regard, Assistant Commissioner, HR & CE Department, Villupuram submitted her report to the Commissioner, HR&CE Department, Chennai in e/f/vz;/2742/2018/m3/ ehs; : 10/03/2020 stating that the petitioner has been in forefront in conducting Thaipoosam Festival for the past 41 years. However, one Thiru Murugan is interfering in the administration of the temple, therefore, the petitioner, on apprehending that the said Thiru Murugan may obstruct, made a representation to the respondent police on 10.12.2022 to provide police protection for Thaipoosam festival in Arulmigu Sivasubramaniyar Temple
which is scheduled from 04.02.2023 to 06.02.2023. Since no action has been taken, the present petition has been filed.

Learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent submitted that two parties are claiming right to celebrate the Thaipoosam festival in Arulmigu Sivasubramaniyar Temple which is scheduled from 04.02.2023 to 06.02.2023. He also submitted that 'A' party is led by one Thiru Murugan and 'B' is led by one Thennarasu, petitioner herein. Therefore, a Peace Committee Meeting was scheduled on 31.01.2023 and notice in m3/06/2023 dated 30.01.2023 has been sent to both the parties.
4. Considered rival submissions. In view of the submissions made by either side of the parties that the Peace Committee Meeting was scheduled today in connection with the celebration of Thaipoosam Festival, this Court directs the respondents to take appropriate action on the representation of the petitioner dated 10.12.2022, on the basis of the outcome of the Peace Committee Meeting.
