Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking issuance of a writ of certiorarified mandamus, to call for the records of the departmental proceedings initiated against the petitioner by issuance of the charge memo issued by the District Collector of South Arcot District in his RC.1182/88/B6, dated 13.06.1988 and letter No.44108/E/98-4 of the Rural Development Department and to quash the same and direct the respondents to pay the terminal benefits of the petitioner together with interest at 12% from the date 20.8.2003 on which date the respondents have provisionally decided to impose the punishment comtemplated and further direct the respondents to pay a sum of Rs.1 lakh as compensation, compensating towards the mental agony and mental stress undergone by the petitioner.

When the matter was taken up for hearing on 23.07.2018, there was no representation for the petitioner. Subsequently, this Court directed the Registry to issue notice to the petitioner returnable by 01.08.2018. Pursuant to the direction https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

of this Court, notice sent to the petitioner returned with an endorsement 'Deceased'. Since the petitioner died and his legal heirs are not brought on record, the writ petition is dismissed as abated. No costs.
