ORDER
The petitioner was proceeded with departmentally under Rule 17(a) of the Tamil Nadu Civil Services (Discipline & Appeal) Rules on some charges and was finally imposed with the punishment of withholding of increment for a period of three years with cumulative effect by order dated 19.5.2004. The said order was punishment was set aside by this Court in order dated 5.6.2012 in W.P.No.23590 of 2007 and the matter was remanded back to the University of Madras for fresh disposal in accordance with law and in the light of the observation made by this Court. Pursuant thereto, the University of Madras has awarded 'Censure' under Rule 17(a) of the Tamil Nadu Civil Services (Discipline & Appeal) Rules on the petitioner. Under this background, the grievance of the petitioner is that till date, the respondent University has not regularised the suspension period. Therefore, he has given a representation on 15.3.2017 and as the said representation has not been considered, he has sought for a direction to the respondent to consider and dispose of his representation.

2. Mr.R.Gopinath, learned counsel, taking notice on behalf of the respondent University, sought some reasonable time to consider the pending representation.

In the light of the above, this Court hereby directs the respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 15.3.2017 on merits and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
