O R D E R

This petition has been filed to direct the second respondent to give police protection to the safety and security of the petitioner and his property based on the petitioner's complaint dated 14.02.2018.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner was the owner of property to an extent of 2 acres 14 cents at Salem District. Meanwhile, one Mr.Nallakumar @ Sundaram, who is the relative of the petitioner, having nexus with the local goondas and taking undue advantage of the respondents, threatened the petitioner. The complaint made by the petitioner and his tenant viz., Selvi before the second respondent was pending. Hence, the petitioner had sent another complaint on 14.02.2018 to the first respondent which is also pending. Therefore, the petitioner has come up with the present Criminal Original Petition.

3. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing on behalf of the respondents 1 & 2 would submit that respondent/Police cannot give police protection in a case of this nature.

4.Heard Mr.B.Manimaran, learned Counsel for the petitioner and Mr.M.Mohamed Riyaz, learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the respondents and perused the materials placed on record.

5. Taking into consideration the above facts and circumstances, this Court is not inclined to grant police protection to the petitioner and his property.

6. In view of the above, this Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed.
