2. The habeas corpus petition has been filed, praying that this Court may be pleased, to direct the respondents herein to produce the detenu, namely, Ramachandran, son of Mr.Arumugam, aged about 23 years before this Court and set him at liberty.

3. It has been stated that the detenu had gone missing, on 12.09.2015. A complaint had been registered before the respondent police, in Crime No.541 of 2015, as a 'man-missing' case, on 12.09.2015. However, as no effective steps have been taken, by the respondent, to trace the detenu, the petitioner has preferred the present habeas corpus petition. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

4. A status report, dated 22.1.2016, has been filed on behalf of the respondent, stating the steps taken by the respondent, to trace the detenu. From the submissions made in the status report, filed on behalf of the respondent, we are of the view that effective steps are being taken to trace the detenu. In such circumstances, we do not find any reason to grant the relief, as prayed for by the petitioner, in the present habeas corpus petition. Hence, this habeas corpus petition stands closed. However, it is made clear that the respondent shall continue to take steps to trace the detenu, to investigate the matter and take necessary steps, in accordance with law.
