Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to consider and pass orders on the petitioner's representation dated 23.04.2012 for issuance of sub-division patta.

O R D E R

The prayer sought for in this Writ Petition is to direct the respondents to consider and pass orders on the petitioner's representation dated 23.04.2012 for issuance of sub-division patta.

2. The case of the petitioner is that he had purchased the property from one Lakshmi Ammal in the year 1985 by a registered sale deed dated 01.06.1985, as Document No.797 of 1985 at Gingee Sub Registrar Office. Thereafter, he is in peaceful possession and enjoyment of the same since then. He would also submit that no patta was issued in his favour by the Revenue Authorities. On 23.04.2012, the petitioner made a representation to the respondents for issuance of patta in his favour. However, till date the said representation was not considered. Therefore, the present Writ Petition has been filed.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that it would be suffice to issue direction to the respondents to dispose of the representation dated 23.04.2012 in accordance with law.

4. Considering the limited request made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this Court hereby directs the respondents to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 23.04.2012, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. For any reference, the petitioner is directed to produce a copy of the representation dated 23.04.2012 to enable the respondents to pass appropriate orders.

5. The Writ Petition is disposed of on the above terms. No costs.
