Petition under Section 11 of the Contempt of Courts Act, 1971 to punish the respondents for wilfully disobeying the order passed in W.P. No. 18510 of 2014 dated 27.07.2017.

O R D E R

The matter is heard through videoconferencing.

Pursuant to the acceptance of the proposal of the petitioner for Voluntary Retirement, he has been relieved of his duties with effect from 10.01.2020 and the same has been approved by the District Educational Officer, Thiruvannamalai, by his proceedings dated 15.02.2021. Therefore, the contempt petition is liable to be closed.

However, Mr.S.N. Ravichandran, learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the benefits due to the petitioner on his voluntary retirement have not been disbursed so far, in response to which, Mrs. Dakshayini Reddy, learned counsel for the Management would submit that the proposal for disbursement of benefits has been sent on 04.03.2021 to the District Educational Officer.

Considering the said submission made by the learned counsel for the Management, the authority concerned will act upon the said proposal and take a decision and disburse the amount to the petitioner, at the earliest. 5.

With the above direction, the contempt petition is closed. No costs.

Post the matter "for reporting compliance" during the second week of June, 2021.
