O R D E R

The prayer sought for in the present petition is to direct the respondent to provide permission on 07.02.2018 from 10 am to 2 pm as well as to provide protection to members of India Jananayaga Sirubanmai Vidudhalai Iayakkam at the time of the demonstration.

2. The Inspector of Police, Cheyyur Police Station, Kanchipuram District is suo-motu impleaded as party respondent.

3. It is submitted by the learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) that the investigation on the death of pastor V.Gideon is pending in Crime No.20 of 2018 on the file of the Inspector of Police, Cheyyur Police Station, Kanchipuram District. The present petition is seeking for permission from the respondent herein for demonstration. In my view, such a permission may not be appropriate since, the investigation on the death is pending.

4. Today when the matter was called, the learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) by relying on the Postmortem Report submitted that the death was due to natural circumstances. However, they are awaiting result of chemical analysis. The learned counsel for the petitioner, on the other hand submitted that though the death was on 20.01.2018, there is an insignificant progress in the investigation.

5. In my view, the ends of justice would be met, if the investigation officer is directed to file a final report within a stipulated time. If at all, the petitioner is aggrieved against the filing of final report, it is always open to him to challenge the same in a manner known to law.

6. In the result, the Criminal Original Petition stands disposed of with the direction to the Inspector of Police, Cheyyur Police Station, Kanchipuram District to expedite the investigation in Crime No.12 of 2018 and to file a final report within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
