Respondents The writ petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issue of a writ of mandamus, directing the second respondent to grant patta pass book in favour of the petitioner in respect of the land in S.No.443 to an extent of 2.04 hectares at Tenishpetty village, Omalur Taluk, by considering the petitioner's application, dated 10.10.2013, made under Section 3 of the Patta Pass Book Act, 1983.

ORDER

There is no appearance on behalf of the petitioner. Heard the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the respondents. This writ petition has been filed by the petitioner, praying that this Court may be pleased to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the second respondent to grant patta pass book, in favour of the petitioner, in respect of the land, in S.No.443, to an extent of 2.04 hectares, at Tenishpetty village, Omalur Taluk, by considering the petitioner's application, dated 10.10.2013, made under Section 3 of the Patta Pass Book Act, 1983.

At this stage of the hearing of the writ petition, the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the respondents had submitted that the second respondent may be directed to dispose of the application of the petitioner, dated 10.10.2013, within a specified period.

In view of the averments made in the affidavit filed in support of the writ petition and in view of the submissions made by the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the respondents, this Court finds it appropriate to direct the second respondent to dispose of the application of the petitioner, dated 10.10.2013, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after giving an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and the other persons concerned, if any.

The writ petition is disposed of, with the above directions. No costs.
