ORDER

This Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 21.3.2016 insofar as the police protection is concerned and to pass further orders.

2. When the Writ Petition came up for hearing in the morning session, Mr.Sanjay Gandhi, learned Additional Government Pleader, had submitted that he had to verify as to whether the representation said to have been made by the petitioner dated 21.3.2016 was actually received by the respondents or not.

3. Accordingly, he has verified with the respondents and submitted in the afternoon session before this Court, when the

matter came up for hearing, that the first respondent / the Superintendent of Police, Thiruvarur District, had received the representation of the petitioner dated 21.3.2016 only yesterday evening.

4. Further, the learned Additional Government Pleader has submitted that he has got no objection to direct the respondents to dispose of the representation made by the petitioner dated 21.3.2016 insofar as the police protection is concerned.

5. Heard Mr.S.Ilamvaludhi, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner.

6. Without going into the facts on merits, based on the representation made by the learned counsels and since the learned Additional Government Pleader has no objection to issue direction as sought for by the petitioner, this Court finds that it may be better to dispose of the Writ Petition at the stage of admission itself by issuing a direction as sought for.

7. Accordingly, the respondents 1 and 2 are hereby directed to dispose of the representation made by the petitioner dated 21.3.2016 insofar as the police protection is concerned on or before 27.3.2016 on merits and in accordance with law.

8. In the result, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No order as to costs.
