ORDER

The relief sought for in the present writ petition is to direct the first respondent to consider and dispose of the representation dated 20.05.2013, seeking patta for S.No.432, Palladam, Tiruppur District.

2. For grant of patta or cancellation of patta or mutation of revenue records, the aggrieved person has to submit an application in the prescribed format under the provisions of the Patta Passbook Act. Mere representation would be insufficient for grant of patta or its cancellation or otherwise. The Act contemplates certain procedures and an enquiry is to

be conducted with reference to grant of patta or cancellation or for mutation of revenue records and therefore, the relief as such sought for in the present writ petition is misconceiving.

3. The petitioner has to submit appropriate application before the competent authority by following the procedures for grant of patta or cancellation or for mutation of revenue records or otherwise. Thus, the petitioner is at liberty to file appropriate application in the manner known to law.

4. With these directions, the writ petition is disposed of. There will be no order as to costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is also closed.
