ORDER

The prayer made in the writ petition is to issue a writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 24.02.2017 within the time prescribed by this Court.

2. It is the grievance of the petitioner that he has submitted a representation dated 24.02.2017 to the respondents, seeking permission to conduct "Gramiya Kalai Nigazhchi" scheduled to be held on 08.03.2017 on the eve of Periyeripatti Sri Chinna Mariyamman Temple festival situate at Tholasampatti, Omalur Taluk, Salem District. However, till date, no order has been passed either to grant permission or reject the said representation made by the petitioner. Hence, this petition.

3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the leaned Additional Public Prosecutor, who took notice for the respondent.

Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, without going into the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, this Court directs the respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 24.02.2017 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law on 07.03.2017 .

5. With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
