Common Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the Petitioner's representation dated 22.01.2020.

Jayaprakash Narayanan, Learned Government Pleader takes notice for the Second to Fourth Respondents, and perused the materials placed on record, apart from the pleadings of the parties. 2.

The Petitioners have been elected as Ward Councilors in Thiruvalangadu Panchayat Union and they seek directions in these Writ Petitions to consider their representations made for police protection during the election to be held on 30.01.2020 to the posts of Chairman and Vice-Chairman of Thiruvalangadu Panchayat Union.

Learned Standing Counsel appearing for the First Respondent, on instructions, states that as per Circular No. N.K. 7361/2019 dated 08.01.2020 issued by the First Respondent, police protection would be given in the entire premises where the election is to be conducted and that the conduct of the entire election would be video-graphed, apart from ensuring individual security of each of the Petitioners by adequate police protection till the election is concluded.

Recording the aforesaid submissions made, the Writ Petitions are disposed. No costs.
