This writ petition has been filed for issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondent to consider the representation made by the petitioner on 06.09.2022, wherein the petitioner has requested the respondent to include the name of his wife Mrs.J.Valarmathi in the records so as to enable her to draw the family pension after the life time of the petitioner.

2. Heard Mr.J.Lakshminarayanan, learned counsel for petitioner and Mrs.Hema Muralikrishnan, learned Standing Counsel, appearing for respondent.

3. The case of the petitioner is that he was married to one Uma in the year 1988. There was some marital dispute, which ultimately ended in the petitioner filing divorce petition in H.M.O.P.No.67 of 1997 and an ex parte decree dissolving the marriage between the petitioner and Uma was passed on 07.09.1998. Thereafter, the petitioner had married one Valarmathi and through the wedlock, he has a son and daughter.

4. The grievance of the petitioner is that he had made representations 2/4

to the respondent requesting for including the name of his wife Valarmathi in the pension payment order to enable her to draw the family pension after the life time of the petitioner and till date, the same has not been acted upon. Aggrieved by the same, the present writ petition has been filed seeking for appropriate direction.

5. Taking into consideration the limited relief sought for in this writ petition, there shall be a direction to the respondent to consider the representation made by the petitioner on 06.09.2022 and act on the same in accordance with the relevant rules and necessary orders shall be passed within a period of six (6) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

Accordingly, this Writ Petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
