PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Declaration to declare the petitioner's non-selection [Register No.1001591] [Na.Ka.No.3434/A2/2006 of the first respondent] for the recruitment to the post of Police Constable, Grade-II, [Men and Women] for the year 2006-2007 as illegal, null and void and to consequently issue directions to the respondents to select and appoint the petitioner as Police Constable, Grade-II, with retrospective effect from the date of appointment of his immediate junior with all consequential, service and monetary benefits.

The prayer in the present writ petition has become infructuous, since the petitioner challenges his non-selection to the post of Police Constable, Grade-II, for the recruitment, which was held in the year 2006-2007. Apparently, the petitioner herein has now crossed the age of consideration for the said post. Hence, nothing survives in the writ petition.
