O R D E R

This petition has been filed to direct the 2nd Respondent to provide police protection to the petitioner and his family members from the Respondents 3 to 6.

It is the case of the petitioner that he is legally entitled to 0.93 cents of agricultural land in S.No.70/7, Kondasamana Alli Village, Dharmapuri, he having acquired them by virtue of Lok Adalat settlement and that respondents 3 to 6 are frequently interfering with his possession and are damaging the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

crops. Therefore, the petitioner gave a representation dated 09.07.2018 to the police and has thereafter, filed the present petition seeking police protection.

3. Today, Mr.K.Saravanan, Sub-Inspector of Police, Karimangalam Police Station is present.

4. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner, learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the State and the learned counsel for respondents 3 to 6.

5. On instructions, learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the petitioner's group and respondents 3 to 6 frequently quarrelled and clashed and therefore, the police have registered two cases, viz., Cr.No.148 of 2018 and Cr.No.149 of 2018 and arrested some persons on both sides and remanded them to custody. Learned Additional Public Prosecutor also submitted that a case in Cr.No.209 of 2018 has been registered on 05.06.2018 under Sections 294(b), 341, 323, 324 and 506(ii) IPC against Yacoob, son of the petitioner and charge sheet has been filed, but the same is yet to be taken on file.

6. In such view of the matter, this Court cannot issue any direction to the police to give police protection exclusively to the petitioner. However, the police are directed to ensure that there is no law and order problem in the area and take firm action against anyone who indulges in violence. With the above observation, this petition is closed.
