O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed for issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to consider the representation made by the petitioner on 09.01.2023 wherein the petitioner has sought compassionate appointment.

2. The case of the petitioner is that his father was working as Village Administrative Officer and he died in harness on 12.05.2000. The petitioner being his son applied for compassionate appointment as early as on 08.01.2001.

3. The grievance of the petitioner is that he has been running from pillar to post for more than twenty years and every time, he is being dragged with one query or other and till date, no decision has been taken by the respondents. The petitioner is already aged 43 years and since he has not been able to get the relief, he is knocking the doors of this Court seeking for 2/4

appropriate directions to the respondents.

4. Heard Mr.R.Rajkumar, learned counsel for petitioner and Mrs.Indhumathi, learned Government Advocate, appearing for respondents.

5. In the considered view of this Court, the petitioner had made the application seeking compassionate appointment immediately after the demise of his father. For one reason or other, the issue is being dragged by the respondents and the same is evident from the documents that have been filed before this Court. The petitioner has been unreasonably made to wait for more than twenty years and he is already 43 years. Hence, there shall be a direction to the respondents 2 and 3 to take a decision on the compassionate appointment sought for by the petitioner within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The petitioner is directed to make a fresh representation to the respondents 2 and 3 along with all relevant documents and also a copy of this order. N.ANAND VENKATESH, J.
