ORDER

2. It appears that the petitioner is challenging Tamil Nadu Liquor (Retail Vending) Rules, 1989. Subsequently, with effect from 3rd November, 2003, the Tamil Nadu Liquor Retail Vending (in Shops and Bars) Rules, 2003 have come into force.
3. In view of that, now nothing survives in the Writ Petition since the said Rules, 1989 are no longer in force. This Writ Petition, as such, is dismissed as infructuous. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, W.P.M.P.No.35442 of 2003 is closed. (S.V.G., CJ.) (D.B.C., J.) 2/4
