Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the first and second respondents to call for from the third respondent sponsoring the name of the petitioner for appointment to the post of Pharmacist under Vadugar Community / Backward Class quota and to direct the third respondent to sponsor the name of the petitioner to the post of Pharmacist for any one of the vacancies in Tiruvannamalai District and to direct the first and second 1/4

respondent to appoint the petitioner as Pharmacist in accordance with G.O.Ms.No.105 Health and Family Welfare Department dated 03.05.2000, within a limited time frame as deemed fit by this Court. For Petitioner :

ORDER

The relief sought in this writ petition is to direct the Respondents 1 & 2 to call for from the 3rd Respondent sponsoring the name of the Petitioner for appointment to the post of Pharmacist under Vadugar Community / Backward Class Quota and to direct the 3rd Respondent to sponsor the name of the Petitioner to the post of Pharmacist for any one of the vacancies in Tiruvannamalai District and to direct the Respondents 1 & 2 to appoint the Petitioner as Pharmacist in accordance with G.O.Ms.No.105 Health and Family Welfare Department dated 03.05.2000, within a limited time frame as deemed fit by this Court.

2. It is seen from the records that this case has been periodically adjourned from time to time either at the request of the learned counsel for 2/4

Petitioner or at the request of the learned Government Advocate for the Respondents.

3. This writ petition was filed in the year 2006. The Petitioner was aged about 41 years at the time of filing of this writ petition and now, he will be about 60 years. Since more than 18 years have lapsed from filing of this writ petition, the relief sought by the Petitioner has become infructuous due to efflux of time. Hence, this Writ Petition is dismissed as infructuous. No costs.
