Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, forbearing the respondents 1 and 2 or its Officials, Subordinates or any other person authorized by them from in any manner interfering or disconnecting the Metro water supply and sewerage connections provided to the Flats belonging to the members of the petitioners Association at Ground floor, I floor, II floor and III floor of No.43/44, Montieth Road, Egmore, Chennai 8 for non payment of taxes or charges due and payable by the respondents 3 to 6 herein to the 1st and 2nd respondents, pending disposal of the main writ petition.

ORDER

This writ petition has been filed forbearing the respondents 1 and 2 or its Officials, Subordinates or any other person authorized by them from in any manner interfering or disconnecting the Metro water supply and sewerage connections provided to the Flats belonging to the members of the petitioners Association at Ground floor, I floor, II floor and III floor of No.43/44, Montieth Road, Egmore, Chennai 8 for non payment of taxes or charges due and payable by the respondents 3 to 6 herein to the 1st and 2nd respondents, pending disposal of the main writ petition.

2. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that pending writ petition, the petitioner had limited dues payable to the first and second respondents.

3. In view of the above, the first and second respondents are directed to verify and ensure that the petitioner paid the entire dues, thereafter, restore the water connection to the petitioner's premises within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. If the petitioner did not pay the dues, the first and second respondents are at liberty to proceed further as against the petitioner in accordance with law.

4. With the above direction, this writ petition stands disposed of. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. No costs.
