Contempt Petition No. 1379 of 2017 :- Petition filed under Section 11 of The Contempt of Court Act, 1971 praying to punish the respondents for wilful and deliberate disobedience of the Order passed in WP No. 39738 of 2016 dated 14.11.2016. For Petitioners :

Mr. P. Rajesh in both the Contempt Petitions For Respondents :

Mr. M. Santhanaraman Additional Government Pleader (Forest) for RR1 and 2 in Cont.P. No. 1378 of 2017 and for respondents in Cont.P. No.1379 of 2017 COMMON ORDER By a common order dated 14.11.2016 passed in WP Nos. 39737 and 39738 of 2016, this Court, while allowing the writ petitions filed by the petitioners herein, directed the

respondents to appoint the petitioners in the regular time scale of Forest Watchers by taking into account of their seniority and qualification on par with their juniors, in the light of the earlier orders of this Court, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. According to the petitioners, the aforesaid order dated 14.11.2016 has not been complied with by the respondents, and therefore, they have filed the present Contempt Petitions. 2.

When the contempt petitions are taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents/Forest Department brought to the notice of this Court the proceedings bearing (i) Ref.No.LL1/36601/2016-2 (ii) Ref.No.LL1/36601/2016-3 (iii) Ref.No.LL1/36601/ 2016-4 (iv) Ref.No.LL1/36601/2016 -5, all dated 12.07.2018 passed by the Principal Chief Conservator of Forest, Chennai - 600 015 and also the Government Letter No.18914/FR.2(1)/2017-1 dated 26.03.2018 passed by the Government and contend that the orders passed by this Court have been complied with by the respondents.

In the light of the above submission of the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the Forest Department, this Court is of the view that since the orders passed by this Court has been complied with by the respondents, no further adjudication is necessary in these

contempt petitions. Accordingly, both the contempt petitions are closed. No costs.
