ORDER

This Criminal Miscellaneous Petition has been filed by the petitioenrs seeking a modification of the condition imposed by this Court by order dated 09.01.2026 in Para No. 7(b) in Crl.O.P.No. 359 of 2026.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that the petitioners are facing a life threat if they appears before the respondent police station as per the existing condition. On this ground, he seeks to modify the reporting condition.

3. The learned Public Prosecutor (Puducherry) vehemently opposed the petition, stating that although the petitioners were released on bail on 12.01.2026, they have not complied with the conditions for even a single day. He further contended that the respondent police station and the jurisdictional Court are located in immediate proximity, therefore, the petitioner's apprehension of a life threat is untenable.

4. Considering the petitioner's total non-compliance with the condition since his release, and the fact that the respondent police station and the concerned Court are situated in immediate proximity to one another, the claim of a life threat is found to be untenable, I am not inclined to modify the condition.

5. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed. 02-02-2026 JAI
