ORDER
This petition has been filed seeking for a direction, directing the respondents to settle all the retirement benefits due to the petitioner, such as, Pension, D.C.R.G., G.P.F., Encashment of Leave Salary, etc., with interest for the belated period of payment of retirement benefits within a stipulated time.
2.The petitioner, R.Babu, who was appointed as Night Watchman on 05.04.1982 and subsequently, promoted as Office Assistant on 31.07.2015, retired from service, on attaining the age of superannuation on 31.07.2015. The grievance of the petitioner is that from the date of retirement to till date, the respondents have not come forward to settle his retirement benefits. Although the Block Development Officer, Polur, has recommended the case of the petitioner for disbursement of the retirement benefits, in view of the administrative reasons, till date, the petitioner has not received the retirement benefits, as a result of which, the respondents have to pay the retirement benefits with interest for the belated payment of retirement benefits. Hence, the petitioner has filed this petition for the above stated relief.
3.Mr.P.Chinnadurai, learned Government Advocate, takes notice on behalf of the respondents.
4.A perusal of the order of retirement dated 31.07.2015, issued by the Commissioner, does not show that the petitioner is facing any impediment for disbursement of retiral benefits. Therefore, the 1st respondent is hereby directed to settle all the retirement benefits as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
The Writ Petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
