The relief sought for in the writ petition is to consider the petitioner's selection and appointment for the post of sanitary inspector in Chennai City Municipal Corporation as per the seniority.

3. Today when the matter was taken up for consideration, the learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that the petitioner's request has been considered by the respondent and therefore nothing survives for adjudication in the present writ petition.

4. Recording the submissions made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, the writ petition is dismissed as infructuous. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous petition is closed.
