PRAYER: Criminal Original Petitions filed under Section 482 of the Criminal Procedure Code seeking to quash the charge sheet in CC.No.5374 of 2020 on the file of VII Metropolitan Magistrate Court (Special Court for CCB and CB-CID cases) Egmore, Chennai.

For Petitioners (in both Crl.OPs') : Mr.R.Rajarajan For Respondent-1 : Mr.A.Damodaran (in both Crl.OPs') Additional Public Prosecutor For Respondent-2 : Mr.M.Pradeep Shankar (in both Crl.OPs') COMMON ORDER These petitions have been filed by the petitioners who are accused 2, 3 and 4 in CC.No.5374 of 2020 pending on the file of the VII Metropolitan Magistrate Court (Special Court for CCB and CBCID Cases) Egmore, Chennai and have been transferred to the Special Court for Exclusive Trial of Land Grabbing Cases, Egmore, Chennai and assigned as CC.No.18 of 2022.
2.The learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that the matter is purely Civil in nature, for which criminal colour has been given. 3.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the first respondent submitted that out of the seven witnesses cited in the Charge 2/4
Sheet, five witnesses have already been examined and the matter is pending before the Investigation Officer for examining the remaining witnesses. 4.In view of the same, I feel it is appropriate to direct the Special Court for Exclusive Trial of Land Grabbing Cases, Egmore, Chennai itself to dispose of the case within a period of two (2) months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The petitioners are at liberty to raise all their contentions as their defense during the said proceedings. 5.With the above direction, these Criminal Original Petitions are disposed of.
