Respondents PRAYER:- Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India prays to issue a Writ of mandamus directing the 2nd respondent herein to consider petitioner's representation dated 02.10.2018 with regard to merging the Pallipalayam Agraharam Village Panchayat, with Pallipalayam Municipality, Namakkal District.

[Order of the Court was made by M.SATHYANARAYANAN,J.,] (1)By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal. Mrs.M.Jayashree, learned Government Advocate accepts notice on behalf of respondents 1,2, 4 and 5.
(2)The grievance of the petitioner, who is a resident of Vediarasampalayam, Pallipalayam Agraharam Post, Pallipalayam, Namakkal District is that in the light of the civic amenities problem and other problems faced, the Pallipalayam Village Panchayat be merged with Pallipalayam Municipality, so that it will be beneficial to the local population. The petitioner in this regard, has also submitted a detailed representation dated 02.10.2018 to the 1st respondent, with copies marked to respondents 2 to 6 and despite, receipt and acknowledgment, no action whatsoever, has been taken and therefore, he is constrained to approach this Court by filing this writ petition.
(3)This Court heard the submissions of the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents 1, 2, 4 and 5 and also perused the materials placed before it.
(4)Though the petitioner has prayed for a larger relief, this Court, in the light of the above facts and circumstances and without going into the merits of the claim projected by the petitioner, directs either the 1st respondent or the jurisdictional subordinate official/s to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 02.10.2018 on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of ten weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner herein.
