Respondents Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 2nd respondent to give service connection of my vacant site situated at Sithandeeswarar layout, Chinnaveerampatti Post, Udumalpet as per the representations of the petitioner dated 04.04.2017 and 23.06.2017 and according to the provision of Electricity Act within the time.

O R D E R

Mr.S.K.Rameshwar, learned standing counsel takes notice for the respondents. By consent of the parties, the main writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

2. The petitioner seeks for a direction to the second respondent to give service connection to the petitioner's vacant site situated at Sithandeeswarar layout, Chinnaveerampatti Post, Udumalpet, for the purpose of putting up a construction therein and also for drawing water from the bore well, only for utilizing water for such construction.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner will not utilize the water for commercial purpose. He further submitted that the petitioner has already made the representations on 04.04.2017 and 23.06.2017 and the said representations are pending before the respondents.

4. This Court, at this stage, is not expressing any view on the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, as it is for the second respondent to consider the said representations filed by the petitioner and take appropriate action, after getting necessary undertaking from the petitioner.

5. The learned standing counsel for the respondents submitted that for the purpose of putting up a construction, there is a provision for granting temporary service connection. Therefore, the second respondent will consider the said request of the petitioner and pass appropriate orders within the time stipulated by this Court.

6. Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of, only by directing the second respondent to consider the representations of the petitioner dated 04.04.2017 and 23.06.2017 and pass appropriate orders within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
