ORDER
The petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking for issuance of a writ of mandamus to direct the respondents to admit him in Diploma in Teacher Education Course (Urdu) against the seats, which remain unfilled for the academic year 2009-2010 in the third respondent institute.

It is averred in the affidavit filed in support of the writ petition that the petitioner belongs to Muslim Minority Community and he studied his primary education in Urdu medium and thereafter, he studied 6th to 10th standard in R.D. Government Higher Secondary School, Gingee, whereby he took Tamil as one of the languages. It is further stated that while he was studying +1 and +2 in R.D. Government Higher Secondary School, Gingee, he took Urdu language as first language and he scored 801 out of https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
1200 marks in the higher secondary public examination conducted during March, 1999. Thereafter, for the academic year 20092010, he applied for Diploma in Teacher Education Course in District Institute of Educational Training and Government Teacher Training Institutes under the single window system before the Directorate of Teacher Education Research and Training, Chennai. Subsequently, he was called for Counselling on 04.07.2009, however, he was not selected in the Counselling on the ground that he had not studied Urdu language in 6th to 10th standard. Hence, the present writ petition with a prayer cited supra.

When the matter is taken up, Mr.K.Karthikeyan, learned Government Advocate, appearing for the respondents, submitted that in view of the interim stay granted by this Court on 04.08.2009, the petitioner was admitted and completed the Diploma in Teacher Education Course, therefore, the prayer in the writ petition has become infructuous.
4. Recording the above said submission of the learned Government Advocate, the writ petition is dismissed as infructuous. No Costs. M.P.No.1 of 2009 is closed.
