Respondent Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent university to consider the petitioner representation dated on 09.05.2020 and 05.07.2022 for promotion to the post of Associate Professor in Computer and Information Science under Career Advancement Scheme (CAS) by allowing him to participate in the certificate verification as well as the interview by the Committee as per the proceedings of the respondent university in Letter No. AU/ CAS/ 2018 dated 8.08.2018 with all consequential benefits. O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed for issue of writ of mandamus directing the respondent University to consider the representations made by the petitioner on 09.05.2020 and 05.07.2022, wherein, the petitioner has sought for promotion to the post of Associate Professor in Computer and Information Science under Career Advancement Scheme (CAS). 2.Heard Mr.C.A.Anburaja, learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner and Mr.C.P.Arivudainambi, learned Standing Counsel appearing on behalf of the respondent.

3.The learned Standing Counsel appearing on behalf of the respondent University submitted that the representation made by the petitioner will be considered and respondent will act in accordance with the existing Rules.

4.Taking into consideration the limited relief sought for in the present writ petition and without going into the merits of the case, there shall be a direction to the respondent to consider the representation made by the

petitioner on its own merits and in accordance with law and inform to the petitioner about the decision taken by the respondent, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. 5.This writ petition is disposed of with the above direction.
