The petitioners compromise in a matter under Section 306 and 498(A) of IPC cannot be accepted for the reason that there are incriminating materials to substantiate the possibility of the offence being made out. In view of the nature of the offence and also the fact that there are some witnesses to substantiate the charges, it would not be appropriate for this Court to quash the proceedings in SC.No.280 of 2018 on the file of the Mahila Court, Chennai.
