PRAYER : Writ Petition filed Under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a writ of declaration to declare that B.Sc Degree Holders in Nursing who studied in Tamil Nadu Government Nursing Colleges and Institutions are eligible and entitled to be appointed as staff Nurse or any other equivalent post in Government General Hospitals or any other Government Institutions in the State of Tamilnadu. This writ petition has been filed seeking a writ of declaration to declare that B.Sc Degree Holders in Nursing who studied in Tamil Nadu Government Nursing Colleges and Institutions are eligible and entitled to be appointed as Staff Nurse or any other equivalent post in Government General Hospitals or any other Government Institutions in the State of Tamil Nadu.
2. In response to the claim made by the petitioners, the first respondent filed a counter affidavit stating that from the year 2015 onwards Medical Services Recruitment Board was constituted and all candidates 3/6
those who have acquired the Degree or Diploma in Nursing from a Government/Government recognized institution and permanently registered with the Tamil Nadu Nurses and Midwives Council are eligible to participate in the recruitment process.
3. In the light of the said averment made in paragraph No.4 of the counter affidavit, the relief sought for in this writ petition has become infructuous. It is open to the petitioners to participate in the recruitment process under the notifications issued by the Medical Services Recruitment Board.
4. Accordingly, this Writ petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. 25.06.2025 Index : Yes/No Speaking order:Yes/No ub 4/6
