The limited prayer sought for in the present writ petition is for issuance of writ of mandamus to consider the petitioner's representation dated 12.10.2024, wherein he has sought for premature release of his brother.

2. It is stated by the petitioner that the petitioner has completed 10 years of actual imprisonment as on 15.09.2021. It is also stated that the petitioner's request for premature release of his brother has been forwarded to the Government under G.O.(Ms).No.488, Home (Prison-IV) Department as well as under G.O.(Ms) No.430, Home (Prison-IV) Department, but till date the respondents have not released the petitioner's

brother from the prison.

3. In view of the limited prayer sought for, the 1st respondent /Government is now directed to pass final orders on the proposal within a stipulated time.

4. Accordingly, there shall be a direction to the 1st respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 12.10.2024 and pass final orders within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
