Respondents Petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for the issue of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the second and third respondents to consider emergency note issued by the first respondent in favour of the petitioner dated 07.02.2017.

ORDER

The petitioner's father Mr.Srinivasan, while serving as Village Administrative Officer in Pinnalvadi Village, Ulundurpettai Taluk, Villupuram District, died on 14.7.86, leaving behind his family consisting of his wife and son. Since the petitioner was a minor at the time of his father's demise, his mother made a representation seeking compassionate appointment. But the first respondent did not care about the said representation, as a result the family continues to face financial hardship without any terminal benefit and other amount being not disbursed to them. However, after repeated representations, the first respondent has sent an emergent note on 3.2.2017 and now the second and third respondents have to https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

consider the request of the petitioner. Therefore, in the light of the emergent note dated 3.2.2017 sent by the District Collector, Villupuram, the second and third respondents may be directed to consider and take necessary action in the matter.

2. Mr.V.Jayaprakash Narayanan, learned Special Government Pleader, taking notice on behalf of the respondents, sought for eight weeks time to consider the request of the petitioner, in the light of the emergent note sent by the first respondentDistrict Collector.

3. This Court, taking note of the emergent note sent by the District Collector, Villupuram bearing O.Mu.(A4)/3269/2017 dated 3.2.2017, hereby directs the third and second respondents to consider the request of the petitioner and forward their report to the first respondent within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The writ petition stands disposed of accordingly. No costs.
