ORDER

The petitioner, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offences punishable under Sections 420 of IPC in connection with the Cr. No.32 of 2025, seeks anticipatory bail.

2. The allegation against the petitioner is that the petitioner, along with other accused, operated an unregistered chit fund and collected a substantial sum of money, totaling Rs. 38,70,000/-, from ten victims and subsequently cheated them by failing to return the amount. Based on these allegations, the present case was registered.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is an innocent person and has been falsely implicated by the respondent police. He further submitted that the petitioner is willing to cooperate with the investigation and is ready to abide by any stringent conditions that may be imposed by this Court. On these grounds, he prayed for the grant of anticipatory bail.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing for the respondent police reiterated the prosecution's case and submitted that the petitioner is involved in cheating to the tune of Rs. 38,70,000/-, and no recovery has been made thus far. She further submitted that the investigation is still pending and, therefore, vehemently opposed the grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

5. Considering the nature and gravity of the offence, the substantial amount involved in the case, the fact that no recovery has been made so far, and

the current stage of the investigation, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
