ORDER

The petitioners, who apprehend arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the alleged offences punishable under Sections 191(2), 191(3),

296(b), 329(3), 115(2), 109(1), 351(3) of BNS and section 4 of Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act in Crime No. 4 of 2026, seek anticipatory bail.

2. The allegation against the petitioners is that the petitioners joined hands with three other accused and due to previous enmity, attacked the defacto complainant with a knife and caused severe injuries. Hence, the case has been registered.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioners would submit that the petitioners are innocent person, and they have not committed any offence as alleged by the prosecution, and they have been falsely implicated in this case due to previous enmity. Therefore, he prays for grant anticipatory bail to the petitioners.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) appearing for the respondent reiterated the prosecution case and submitted that the petitioners are ranked as A1 and A2 respectively and they have bad antecedents of 2 and 5 previous cases respectively. She further submitted that the investigation is pending. Hence, opposed to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioners.

5. Considering the fact that both the petitioners have bad antecedents and it is also a case of using a knife and attacking in a public place, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioners. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed.
