ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) The petitioner has made a representation dated 3rd April, 2017 to the District Collector, Salem seeking permission to conduct 'Jallikattu' on 22nd April, 2017 or any other subsequent date in Keeripatti Village, Salem District on the occasion of 'Ellaiyamman Koil Pongal' and 'Jallikattu Festival'.

2. This writ petition seeking orders enabling the petitioner to perform 'Jallikattu' filed on 11th April, 2017, less than a week from the date of submission of the representation, to the District Collector, Salem, is premature. No order need, therefore, be passed thereon. It is expected that the District Collector, Salem/1st respondent will dispose of the representation of the petitioner dated 3rd April, 2017 in accordance with law as early as possible.

3. The writ petition, accordingly, stands disposed of. No costs.
