ORDER

The case has been heard through video conference The petitioner, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the alleged offences punishable under Sections 328 and 273 of IPC, in Crime No.1132 of 2020, on the file of the respondent police, seeks anticipatory bail.

2.The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner along with other accused persons were found in illegal possession of 663 kg of banned tobacco products. Hence, the complaint was registered. 3.The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is an innocent person and he has been falsely implicated in this case. He would further submit that co-accused have been granted bail by the Principal Sessions Court, Chennai in Crl.M.P.Nos.9180 & 10174 of 2020. Hence, he prays to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

4.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submits that the petitioner along with other accused persons were found in illegal possession of 663 kg of banned tobacco products. He would further submit that the entire contraband has been seized by the respondent police. Hence he vehemently opposed to grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

5. Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and that the petitioner has involved in very serious offence, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
