DATED: 18.08.2023

CORAM:

THE HONOURABLE MR. JUSTICE G.K.ILANTHIRAIYAN R.Pavadaisamy ... Petitioner Vs.

The Superintendent of Police, Cuddalore District ... Respondent PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India praying to issue a writ of mandamus directing the respondent to promote the petitioner as Special Sub Inspector of Police. For Petitioner : Mr.S.Ilamvaludhi For Respondent : Mr.K.H.Ravikumar, Government Advocate

ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for direction directing the respondent to promote the petitioner as Special Sub Inspector of Police. 2.

Heard, the learned counsel appearing on either side. 1/4

3.

On perusal of records, with regard to promotion, the petitioner submitted detailed representation and the same was received on 11.08.2011. Since the petitioner did not complete the required years of service in the category of Grade-II Police Constable / Grade-I Police Constable, he could not be upgraded to the higher post on par with those enlisted as Grade-II Police Constables along with him. Therefore, the representation was already rejected. As such this writ petition is devoid of merits and liable to be dismissed.

4.

At this juncture, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner wants to make another representation before the higher officials.

5.

Considering the above request, the petitioner is always at liberty to make another representation before the higher officials. 6.

With the above observation, this writ petition is dismissed. 2/4

There shall be no order as to costs.
