O R D E R

[Order of the Court was made by M.NIRMAL KUMAR, J] Petitioner has filed this petition seeking a direction to the respondents to produce the girl Almasnaisya, aged about 19 years, who was in love with petitioner's son Balrajkumar, who is a student studying at Bangalore, before this Court.

2. The detenue is studying B.Sc I year at AVS College, Salem. The love affair between the petitioner's son and the detenue was not to the liking of the detenue's parents. The detenue, in the mean while, was residing along with the petitioner. On the complaint of the detenue's parents, the detenue was rescued by the police, taken to the District Social Welfare Officer, who had entrusted her to the Magalir Aran Trust, Dharmapuri.

3. The detenue is produced today. When enquired, the detenue categorically states that she wanted to be in the custody of the petitioner and she intents to marry petitioner's son after completion of her education. The detenue is a major and on enquiry, it is found that the detenue's parents have not made any attempt to take back their daughter. On the other hand, it is represented by the detenue that her parents had left to her to take her own decision since she is a major. In the aforestated position, the detenue is set at liberty and entrusted to the custody of the petitioner.
