O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed for issue of writ of mandamus directing the 1st respondent to pass orders on the Review Application filed by the petitioner on 06.11.2024, within the time frame fixed by this Court. 2.Heard Mr.S.Arokiamaniraj, learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner and Mr.A.Selvendran, learned Special Government Pleader appearing on behalf of respondents 1 & 2.

3.The 1st respondent has passed the order dated 01.04.2024 and the petitioner is seeking for the review of the order by making a representation dated 06.11.2024. The learned counsel for the petitioner is not able to show any 2/4

provision which confers such power of review on the 1st respondent. The power of appeal or review is not an inherent power and it has to be conferred by a statute. Therefore, in the absence of any such power, the 1st respondent cannot exercise the power of review. Therefore, this Court is not inclined to grant the relief as sought for in this writ petition. However, it goes without saying that it is left open to the petitioner to question the order passed by the 1st respondent dated 01.04.2024, in the manner known to law.
