Petition praying that in the circumstances stated therein and in the affidavit filed therewith the High Court will be pleased to extend the time to surrender the petitioner before the concerned magistrate court made in Crl.OP.NO.24659 of 2021 dated 16.12.2021. Order : This petition coming on for orders upon perusing the petition and the filed in support thereof and upon hearing the arguments of M/S.M.R.SENTHILKUMAR, Advocate for the petitioner and of M/S.S.SANTHOSH, Govt. Advocate ( Crl. Side) on behalf of the Respondent the court made the following order:- This petition has been filed to extend the time granted by this Court in Crl.O.P.No.24659 of 2021, dated 16.12.2021, to surrender the petitioner before the concerned Magistrate Court. 2.
The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that since the functioning of the Magistrate Courts in Tamil Nadu was temporarily stayed due to the rising cases of Covid-19 pandemic, the petitioner could not able to appear before the concerned Magistrate within the stipulated time. Hence, he prays to extend the time. 3.
Heard the learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing for the respondent police.

Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and the submission made by the learned counsel for the petitioner that since the petitioner could not able to appear before the concerned Magistrate within the stipulated time, this petition is ordered and the time for surrendering the petitioner before the concerned Magistrate Court is extended by two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
