Alleging the violation of the orders of this Court made in W.P.No.14805/2016 dated 22.04.2016, the present contempt petition has been filed.

When the matter is taken up today, filing a Memo of Calculation, the learned Standing Counsel for the respondent submitted that the interest portion on the gratuity has become the subject matter of the contempt petition. Since the petitioner reached the age of superannuation and retired w.e.f. 30.06.2014, by applying the extended period of 30 days, the respondent is liable to pay interest only from 01.08.2014. Accordingly, it was calculated and paid to the petitioner. The commutation was also rightly calculated and entire amount has been paid. 3.
Therefore, when the memo of calculation has been filed stating that entire amount has been fully paid, nothing survives in the Contempt Petition. Recording the same, the Contempt Petition is closed SD/- ASSISTANT REGISTRAR(COMM.CASES) tsi //Certified to be true copy// Dated at Madras this the day of 2019.
