This writ petition has been filed challenging the impugned refusal Check Slip issued by the 1st respondent wherein, the Settlement Deed dated 13.12.2024 which was presented for registration was refused to be registered on the ground that the original deeds were not produced.

2.Heard Mr.S.Arjun, learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioners and Mr.B.Vijay, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing on behalf of respondents 1 & 2.

3.The specific case of the petitioners is that the original title deeds are missing and the reasons have been assigned in Paragraph No.4 of the affidavit filed in support of the writ petition. This reason can be incorporated in the Settlement Deed itself. So that it will enable the 1st respondent to satisfy himself as to why the original title deeds was not produced before the 1st respondent.

4.In view of the above, it is left open to the petitioners to add a specific clause by giving the reason as to why the original title deeds are not able to be produced before the 1st respondent. Thereafter, the document shall be re-presented and the same shall be registered, if it is otherwise in order, by the 1st respondent. 2/4
