O R D E R
(The order of the Court was made by M.JAICHANDREN.,J ) This habeas corpus petition has been filed by the petitioner, who is the mother of the detenue, viz., Selvi S.Deepa, praying that this Court may be pleased to direct the respondents 1 and 2 to secure her daughter, aged about 21 years, produce her before this Court and set her at liberty.
2. The petitioner has stated that, on 14.10.2015, the third respondent has come to her house, along with two others, https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
and abducted the detenue. Therefore, a complaint had been lodged before the second respondent police, which had been registered in Crime No.328 of 2015, as a woman-missing case. However, as the second respondent had not taken further steps to trace the detenu, the petitioner has preferred the present habeas corpus petition.
3. At this stage of the hearing of the habeas corpus petition, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, appearing on behalf of the first and the second respondents, had submitted that, from the informations gathered, it is found to be a case of elopement. The detenue had eloped with the third respondent. However, sufficient steps have been taken to trace the detenue.
4. In view of the above submissions made by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, appearing on behalf of respondents 1 and 2, we are of the view that no further orders are necessary in the present habeas corpus petition. Hence, this habeas corpus petition stands closed. However, we make it clear that the second respondent shall continue the investigation and take appropriate steps to trace the detenue, in accordance with law.
