By consent, the main writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

The petitioners, on an earlier occasion, submitted a representation dated 20.01.2014 to the 2nd respondent for subdivision of properties and for issuance of patta, in respect of the lands in R.S. Nos. 34/17, 34/13, 34/10, 34/3, 34/9 and 34/7 in Meiyanoor Village, Alagapuram Mitta, Salem Taluk, Salem District, in favour of the legal heirs of Chinnathambi. Since the said representation was not considered, the first petitioner
filed W.P. No. 29281 of 2014 and this Court, by order dated 11.11.2014, disposed of the said writ petition, directing the respondent therein/2nd respondent herein to dispose of the representation of the petitioner dated 20.01.2014, on merits and in accordance with law, within a stipulated time. The grievance expressed by the petitioners is that the said representation is yet to be disposed of and when they sought information under the Right to Information Act, they were communicated with the order of Revenue Tahsildar, Salem West dated 24.09.2016. Challenging the legality of the same, the petitioners filed an appeal before the 1st respondent on 13.01.2017. But, so far, no progress has been made and therefore, the petitioners came forward to file the present writ petition.

Heard the submissions of the learned counsel for the petitioners and Mr.S. Pattabiraman, learned Government Advocate, who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents. 4.
This Court, taking into consideration the limited scope of the relief sought by the petitioners and without going into the merits of the same, directs the 1st respondent to entertain the appeal memorandum/petition dated 13.01.2017, if the papers are otherwise in order and after putting on notice, the persons concerned, shall dispose of the appeal, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of ten weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken to the petitioners as well as to the persons concerned. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
