Contempt Petitions Prayer: Contempt petitions filed under Section 11 of the Contempt of Courts Act, 1971 to punish the respondents for disobeying the order passed in S.T.A.Nos. 1 to 5 of 2011, dated 03.01.2018.

Government Pleader for R2 COMMON ORDER (Order of the Court was made by M.M.SUNDRESH, J.) Alleging that the order dated 03.01.2018 made in S.T.A.Nos. 1 to 5 of 2011 has not been complied with, the present contempt petitions have been filed.

2.When the matter is taken up for hearing, learned counsel appearing for the parties submitted that as against the order passed by the Division Bench in S.T.A.Nos.3 of 2006, 2 to 5 of 2009, 1 to 5 of 2001, dated 03-01-2018, a Special Leave Petition has been filed, which is pending consideration. It has been further submitted that contempt proceedings has been stayed by the Apex Court in The State of Tamil Nadu & Ors v. Sasi Sundaram & Ors (passed in SLP (C) No(s). 9844-9853/2018, dated 20-04-2018).

3.We do not propose to keep these contempt petitions pending any longer. Admittedly, the Apex Court has seized of the matter. Therefore, these contempt petitions stand closed, giving liberty to the petitioners to raise all the issues before the Apex Court.
