2. The case of the prosecution is that the petitioners along with other accused had taken the houses of the victims on rent and they had entered into lease agreement with the victims and thereafter they had supplied the houses/properties to various persons and cheated the victims to the tune of Rs. 97 lakhs. Hence, the case.

3. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioners submitted that mediation was conducted to settle the victims and initially the victim agreed to to receive Rs. 1 lakh each and thereafter they did not agree and demanded more more money. He further submitted that the petitioners are in custody from 09.12.2024 and further custody is not required for the purpose of investigation. Hence, he prayed for grant of bail to the petitioner.

4. Learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent police, reiterated the prosecution case and opposed for grant of bail stating that the petitioners are habitual offendors and they have been receiving several complaints against the petitioners.

5. Considering the gravity of the offence committed by the petitioners; the amount involved and that further custody of the petitioners is very much required, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioners at this stage.

6. Accordingly, this Criminal Original petitions are dismissed. 07.02.2025 Sma 3/4
