Respondents Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents herein to pay the compensation to the petitioner for the lands acquired from him, situate at V.Marudhur Medu, Villupuram in S.No.52/1, Ward 'B' Block No.28 to an extent of 3271 sq.ft.at the agreed rate of Rs.98.88 per sq.ft.with interest at 24% per annum from the date of acquisition till the date of realisation.

This writ petition has been filed for a direction to the respondents to pay compensation to the petitioner for the land situated in V.Marudhur Medu, Villupuram in S.No.52/1, Ward 'B' Block No.28, which has been acquired from him. 2.A counter affidavit has been filed by the second respondent today before this Court, in which in paragraph-12 it is stated that the land of the petitioner is no longer used as a road and it is not required for the purpose of passage by the residents and therefore all further actions to acquire the petitioner's land have been dropped and hence the petitioner can utilise his land as he wish.
