This writ petition has been filed for the issue of writ of Mandamus directing the 2nd respondent to issue separate patta in the name of the petitioner with respect to the subject property based on the application submitted by the petitioner on 11.10.2024.

Heard Mr.M.Selvam, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.A.Selvendran, learned Special Government Pleader for Respondents 1 and 2.

The case of the petitioner is that he became the owner of the subject property through a registered sale deed dated 17.09.1999. Thereafter, a joint patta has been issued in the name of the petitioner and four others in Patta No.575. Since the petitioner has purchased a separate portion of the property, he wanted a separate patta to be issued in his name. Hence, an application was submitted on 11.10.2024 in this regard. Since the same was not acted upon, the 2/5

present writ petition has been filed before this Court. 4.

Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and the limited relief sought for in this writ petition, there shall be a direction to the 2nd respondent to deal with the application submitted by the petitioner on 11.10.2024 on its own merits and in accordance with law. If there are any rival claimants, they shall also be put on notice before taking a final decision. The 2nd respondent shall take a final decision within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

This writ petition is disposed of with the above directions. No costs.
