Petition praying that in the circumstances stated therein and in the Memorandum of Grounds in Crl.A.No.531 of 2017 on the file of the High Court, the High Court will be pleased to suspend the sentence of imprisonment alone imposed on the petitioner/appellant/accused in Special C.C.No.30 of 2014 on the file of the Special Judge, (Special Court for Trial of cases under the Prevention of Corruption Act, Salem) on 28.07.2017 and enlarge the petitioner on bail pending disposal of the above Crl.A.No.531/2017.

Order: This petition coming on for orders upon perusing the petition and the Memorandum of Grounds in Crl.A.No.531/17 on the file of the High Court and upon hearing the arguments of M/S.L.MAHENDRAN, Advocate for the petitioner and of MR.R.RAVICHANDRAN, Govt. Advocate ( Crl. Side) on behalf of the Respondent the court made the following order:- Seeking to suspend the sentence imposed on the petitioner by the learned Special Judge (Special Court for Trial of Cases under the prevention of Corruption Act), Salem on 28.07.2017, in C.C.No.30 of 2014 and enlarge the petitioner on bail pending disposal of criminal appeal, the petitioner is before this Court with this petition.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (crl.side) appearing for the respondent.

3. Having regard to the facts and circumstances of the case, this miscellaneous petition is allowed and the order passed by the learned Special Judge (Special Court for Trial of Cases under Prevention of Corruption Act, Salem) on 28.07.2017 in C.C.No.30 of 2014, is suspended on condition that the petitioner shall execute a bond for a sum of Rs.10,000/- (Rupees Ten thousand only) with two sureties each for a like sum to the satisfaction of the learned Special Judge (Special Court for Trial of Cases under Prevention of Corruption Act, Salem). Further, the petitioner shall appear before the trial Court on every first working day of every month at 10.30 a.m until further orders.
